Philip's Story

Bank of Montreal

In 2016 Philip Fielding's life changed forever when he was admitted into Intensive Care with sepsis at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, UK.

Philip was in a critical condition and the medical teams were convinced he would not survive.   Philip's determination and courage meant he eventually survived but his life was to change forever when both of his legs had to be amputated below the knee.

This film looks at how Philip returned to work with a disability and how his positive outlook on life helped him adapt to a new way of living and working. Philip is the Co-Head of Emerging Market Debt at BMO Global Asset Management in London.  The film was commissioned by the Bank of Montreal to inspire its global employees and to show how a disability need not impair someone's ability to succeed in life.
